Jaco beach, Costa Rica

Our friends Aden and Mary came to see us this weekend. We traveled about two and a half hours through the mountains to Jaco beach here in Costa Rica. It was a beautiful drive! Here are some pictures we took while there. I'm sad they have to leave tomorrow and fly back to the states, because it may be another six months before we see them again. We are blessed to have good friends who will fly to Costa Rica just to see us! Enjoy the pictures, the girls had a blast.

January

Aleisha was trying a coconut I got from la fedia which is a farmers market on Saturday's. They cut off the top and give you a straw to drink it while you shop.

This is how the girls watch their movies these days. We haven't gotten a t.v. yet because they are sooooo expensive here. Whatever you would pay for one in the states is doubled here. Crazy!

Costa Rica

Aleisha and Aubrey were playing outside yesterday and I got these pictures of them. There is a little boy next door who is two years old and his family shares the same compound as us. Our houses are right next to each other so they are able to play together. His uncle who is our landlord bought him a swing set for Christmas so the girls go outside often and play with Andreas on the swings. They have fun together although they can't understand anything he says in spanish.

This is a house in our neighborhood. This pictures shows just how beautiful all the plants are here!

This is our school. As you walk down the stairs you pass by all the adult classrooms and then on to the day care and childrens classrooms. The school has been there for 60 years and is still a beautiful place.

This week was orientation for the school. Next week starts our first classes. Cecil and I took our written and oral placement tests the first day and realized we know absolutely nothing. The only thing I wrote on the test was my name. I was so embarrassed. That's why we're there though, to learn spanish. I'm praying God equips us to learn fast. I'll try to keep up with this blog so check it out from time to time to see what we're up to.
